We are going to take apart the results and share them with you. Please feel free to weigh in again and let us know your additional thoughts in the Comment Section below.The first question arises from the trademarked slogan that has been with Sun City for a long time - The City of Volunteers. The slogan used by the RCSC is The Original Fun City. We simply wanted to know if you preferred one and perhaps had another to offer up.

- Why do you need a slogan???
- Why do we need a slogan?
- This is a lot of fuss over something that doesn't matter much.
- America's First Retirement Community Established Jan 1st, 1960
- Too much time and effort are being expended on this question when there are far more important issues to be addressed!
- Neither of them works. Both dated. I could never figure out what the city of volunteers even meant.
- Community of service, relaxation, and vitality!
- The Original Active Retirement Community. Too many new residents are still working and too many have no interest in volunteering even if they had time. We need to move on and not expect the level of volunteers that we enjoyed in the past.
- I love City of Volunteers. However, times have changed and so many of our residents have had to go back to work. Maybe it should read City of Many Opportunities! So much to offer here in Sun City. There are opportunities to volunteer or get paid by working part-time here in Sun City. So many clubs to take advantage of.
- I don't care. How about Sun City the Original Fun City of Volunteers?

- "A Senior Citizens Community"
- Neither of these. They sound sappy and archaic.

- I really don't think a slogan is important, but I would suggest - MY Happy Place
- City of Volunteers does nothing to depict what Sun City really is.

What a great response from Sun City Advocate members on our survey. Nice to see also the one former board member who often chirps in on his disdain for the Advocates continue is his mantra about our role and goals. Clearly he is clueless, but as the survey is posted you'll read how much the majority of readers to this page are in touch with what is going on in their community.

PS. Just a friendly reminder, we didn't spend 56K on this survey, we did it the old fashioned way, volunteers, no cost, just a labor of love.
Bill, I am not sure if the former board member you mention in this post is myself. Just to let you know that I have not had internet connection for three weeks as my previous monitor dies after a long and faithful service. The new monitor on the other hand is a maddening piece of crap which requires a PhD in computer science to hook up. I am currently utilizing my SO’s connection but that will stop tomorrow when the coach turns back to a pumpkin. Consequently if your reference is to me, stop as it is not and if you persist I will request that you publicly identify this board member.
I liked your post on TOSC require rec fees single v. property. As we grow and modernized our basic operating expenses wil grow from the current approximately $1.5 M per month. To all those out there who want to cut the budget, what do we cut, your club’s request for update or give up your space, cut shows and entertainment, the maintenance of the golf courses , pools, the rec centers? Easy to say but the basic NIMBY principal is going to apply all over.
