Why I’m Not Sold on the $50K Survey

First: Recently the GM was extremely hesitant about the motion by the LRPC to purchase trial fitness equipment.  He stated he would rather wait until the 2023 budget to add it then.

Jean, here, stepping in to finish up the Member Board Exchange meeting on May 9^th.  Bill is off pounding the keys at Talk of Sun City and in his new role as an administrator for the Facebook group, Sun City Chat, so I’ll try to fill in the blanks.

To follow our last email “teaser” to you --- Did they listen to us? --- with this edition entitled, “are YOU listening to them?” has me pointing out a few comments that I heard, some by members, some by the Board.  This is not picking on anyone; this is not finding fault; this is not hatred; this is me making observations.  About what was said.  (And what wasn’t said.) My Observations on the April 18, 2022 Long Range Planning Committee Meeting

Thank you for the opportunity to provide one final opinion regarding the Mountain View Project.

Until the last Board meeting when management outlined the next steps to be taken, I had not realized that any actual construction or demolition would add another 12 – 18 months to the timetable. The present PIF Budget Summary showed over $15 Million for Phase I in the Year 2023, so I was under the impression construction would be starting then.

Our Notes and Observations from the Long Range Planning Committee Meeting on 2-21-2022

A few of the members of the Advisory Panel attended the Long Range Planning meeting.  We are trying to attend all committee meetings and bring you the recaps of the meetings.

Our Beginnings

We were born from adversity when an RCSC board member, Karen McAdam, whom we elected was fired by her co-board members. They weren’t happy with her for standing up for the membership. They told her, the board position mandated “loyalty” to the corporation. 

As a small, self-appointed committee,, we worked to get her re-elected in December of 2021. Karen got more votes than any other candidate in years. Four new board members were elected, three of them were endorsed by the Panel group.
